Photography has always been a huge part of my life. Some of my earliest memories are of my dad photographing my sisters and me. From a young age, I loved borrowing his camera and experimenting. I wasn’t very academic, but when I started studying photography at 13, I was hooked by both the creative and technical sides, beginning with hand-developing film. That experience sparked my passion, and I spent all my spare time shooting, whether at sunrise in London or at my local park, learning about light, settings, and composition.
Five years later, I went to university to study photography and discovered Instagram, where I began sharing my work. It was amazing to see how people connected with my images from around the world.
Although I was excited to study, I soon realized university wasn’t the right fit. I used my free time to take small paid jobs with local brands and travel, sharing my experiences online. My Instagram grew quickly, catching the attention of major brands just as social media marketing was taking off.
One of my first big breaks came from The Ritz-Carlton, who flew me around the world to photograph their hotels. Soon after, Lufthansa and Mercedes invited me to join a joint campaign in Germany and Sweden. These opportunities made me realize photography could truly be my career.
As my projects grew, university began to hold me back. I was learning more from real work than from classes, so at 20, against my parents’ advice, I left to pursue photography full-time. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made.
The early years were challenging. Freelance photography is unpredictable, especially in social media. Through trial and error, I learned how to build a sustainable business and market myself. Eventually, I found my rhythm, traveling full-time and working with brands across hotels, cars, tourism boards, and products.
So far, I’ve been fortunate to visit over 70 countries, grow my Instagram to over a million followers, and expand onto TikTok. I continue to share my travels, camera tips, and the reality of life as a photographer.
Perfect Balance is a passion project that reflects on my first ten years as a professional photographer. It celebrates finding the perfect balance between composition, nature, light, and technical skill while inspiring others to explore and create.
